Hell of a day.

No more baby. Don’t know what happened. I’m more worried about Becca than about myself. I don’t think it’s quite hit either of us yet that it’s gone. Stormy waters ahead. But we’ve said that it will give us a chance to prepare properly, get her brimming with vitamins and goodness and try again. Looking for that silver lining. Nothing to be done but try and pick ourselves up and keep moving. I love her so much.

Random Start: The National, “Runaway”

It took me a while to warm to the voice of Matt Berninger. It had always felt somewhat emotionless to me, despite how much I was being moved by the music. I just couldn’t deal with the (perceived) dichotomy. As a result, I was never really a big fan of The National. Despite that, I gave High Violet a chance and was pleasantly surprised. It totally clicked for me, I finally “got it”, and it ended up being one of my most played records of 2010. It’s a fantastic record that I probably wouldn’t have heard a single note of I’ve I’d been closed-minded and written the band off after having the first few records not be my thing. (Something I was very guilty of doing in my younger days.)
